When Is The Best Time To Go Or Visit Uganda?

The best time to visit Uganda can depend upon one’s preference. If the focus is on landscapes and wildlife, well then the visit can be done any time of the year. If it means we are to consider seasonality, then the best times are during the dry seasons.

  • Dec, Jan & Feb( sometimes March) – this is generally dry season. It is usually hotter and drier.
  • Large numbers of wildlife often seen drinking water from the waterholes during this season. Less effort is needed to spot animals even the most elusive cats.
  • Hiking is quite nice and adventurous when it’s not wet. Jun, July & August – Dry Season
  • During these above two dry seasons, we have high recommendations. Roads are good, no slippery. Visibility is excellent.
  • No limitations to mountains, Safaris, and water sports activities.
  • Easy trekking to see mountain gorillas and Chimpanzees.
  • March, April & May – the season is wetter and warmer
  • September and October – the rainy season, the trip may not be pleasant.

Where To Go In Uganda?

1. Kibale National Park

It is argued that the best place in the world to trek the Chimpanzees is Kabale National Park. There are more than 1000 Chimpanzees and other primate species like olive baboons; black, white, and red colobus as well as white-cheeked mangabey making the park the primate capital. In this area, visitors are strictly controlled due to the fact that the park is a fragile habitat for gorillas as well.
